Meet the Staff – John Loyd
John is the newest ECOSS employee, hired to manage a new program at ECOSS. Welcome, John!
John Loyd – Project Manager
Where are you from? El Paso, Texas
What were you doing before you came to ECOSS?: I moved to Seattle after college and started a business under the general “Waste Reduction” heading. Concurrently, I served as a consultant for businesses seeking reduce their waste stream. I’m sure there was more to the last 9 years than this, but it really doesn’t feel like it.
What do you do day-to-day at work?: I will manage the planning and logistics of a new program at ECOSS which will begin this March. More information will be coming soon!
What has been your favorite/most rewarding project to work on at ECOSS?: I am the newest member here, so the new program is my first project with ECOSS. That having been said, it is a great program, and I am sure I will look back on it fondly for years to come.
If you could change one thing about Seattle, what would it be?: Here is where I am supposed to say that I would like the summer to last longer, or winter to a little less gloomy, or the rain to stop in January. The fact of the matter is, however, that I am from Texas and I’d like the winters to be colder and gloomier, and summer to disappear all together. So sorry to all that that offends, but I’ve had my fill of sun and heat.
Favorite spot in South Park?: Muy Macho wins this battle.
What do you like to do outside the office?: I spend time with my wife, I play music, I obsess over cute dogs, and unfortunately I watch far too much television.
Biggest goal for 2010?: I’m taking it one day at a time, so for now let’s just say that I’d like to make this program a success, and anything on top of that will be a pleasant surprise.
